OXON HILL, Md. — Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has won the Conservative Political Action Conference's presidential preference poll.

The overwhelming win is purely symbolic, but reflects the Republican senator's popularity among conservatives who typically hold outsized influence in the GOP's presidential selection process.

Paul captured 31 percent of the vote. He won the poll last year as well.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz finished second place with 11 percent, followed by neurosurgeon Ben Carson, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

None of the Republicans in the poll have formally entered the 2016 race yet.

The victory was announced Saturday evening as the annual conservative conference wrapped up. Thousands of activists flocked to suburban Washington for the three-day gathering.

Nearly 2,500 hundred activists voted. They were younger and more male than the typical electorate.

Sen. Rand Paul won the 2013 Washington Times-CPAC presidential preference straw poll this past weekend with Sen. Marco Rubio coming in a close second, easily outdistancing the rest of the field and signaling the rise of a new generation of conservative leaders. Mr. Paul won 25 percent of the vote and Mr. Rubio collected 23 percent at the three-day Conservative Political Action Conference, the annual gathering that takes the temperature of conservative grass-roots leaders.

2nd Amendment Literature

Both Mr. Rubio and Mr. Paul were elected to the Senate in the 2010 tea party wave that served as a rebuke both to President Obama and to the legacy of President George W. Bush, and this past weekend’s results suggest a conservative movement trying to move past the last decade’s fights.
The results also captured the youthful and libertarian bent of the CPAC audience, where more than half of attendees were between 18 and 25 years of age, and where combatting government overreach was the most dominant philosophy.
Following Mr. Paul and Mr. Rubio in the balloting was former Sen. Rick Santorum in third with just 8 percent, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie — who was not invited to speak at this year’s CPAC — with 7 percent, and Rep. Paul Ryan, the GOP’s vice presidential nominee last year, in fifth place with 6 percent.
Mr. Paul’s victory puts him in the footsteps of his father, former Rep. Ron Paul, who won in 2010 and 2011.
“I’ve been standing with Rand since I came out of the womb,” said Austin Alexander, a 26-year-old consultant from New York who voted for the senator in the straw poll, and who volunteered for the elder Mr. Paul’s presidential campaign in 2012. Mr. Alexander said he believes the GOP is moving in the direction the Pauls espouse. Dear Ron Paul Revolutionaries,

This incredible new pamphlet, "COMMON SENSE; Revisited", deals with the crucial issue of who holds the power; government or the people? This pamphlet clearly explains the difference between indigenous power and surrogate power. It also explains how all issues could be dealt with better by a bottom-up government where individual sovereignty is maintained. No other issue could be more timely as it appears we will soon be electing a President who believes our Constitution should be modified to allow for the redistribution of wealth, which basically means that the government is the total sovereign and can decide how much we can keep and how much of what we make can be given to others.

Ron Paul's 'Campaign for Liberty' has prominently displayed this pamphlet right under "Revolution, A Manifesto" by Ron Paul on their website. It is crucial for everyone to read this concise yet powerful new work and pass it on to others so we can create a paradigm shift to freedom. That is what happened with the original COMMON SENSE by Thomas Paine. If it wasn't for that pamphlet the Declaration of Independence would not have been signed on July 2nd 1776.

The Common Sense; Revisited website offers a full PDF download of the pamphlet for any price you decide. You can pay $100, $0, $10, or whatever amount you wish.

Physical copies of the pamphlet are also available, with discounts for bulk copies During his speech on Tuesday evening, Paul extolled the virtues of individual liberty against an overreaching government (which are also explored in his recent book The Revolution: A Manifesto). He formally kicked off his Campaign for Liberty with the motto: "The Revolution Continues." He pointedly did not endorse Sen. John McCain, who is expected to receive the Republican nomination at the Xcel Energy Center on Thursday. www.CampaignForLiberty.com

Ron Paul Economy

Ron Paul: Bailouts Will Destroy the Dollar U.S. Representative and former presidential candidate Ron Paul tells Newsmax that bailouts of U.S. corporations are bad morally and says current federal economic policies will literally destroy the dollar.

He also insists that the use of counterfeit paper money instead of a gold-backed currency is insane, and declares it is foolhardy for Barack Obama to propose national health care under the present economic conditions.

The Texas legislator ran for president as the Libertarian candidate in 1988, and sought the Republican presidential nomination beginning in March 2007. He withdrew this past June and did not endorse GOP candidate John McCain.

Asked by Newsmaxs Ashley Martella about the bailouts of Wall Street, the banking industry and apparently the Big Three automakers, Paul a member of the House Financial Services Committee said: I think we're going in the wrong direction and I strongly oppose it. I find it to be bad economics. I find it bad morally to transfer wealth from one group of people to another no matter what kind of problems they have Lo and behold, the Constitution doesn't talk much about allowing Congress to go and bail out their friends. So I oppose it from practical and well as philosophic reasons.

Paul said his fellow legislators are working real hard, we are working overtime, maybe this weekend we are going to work real hard to prolong the agony and not allow the market to correct the imbalances.

Paul has called for abandoning the Federal Reserve System and returning the nation to a gold and silver standard. He told Newsmax why.

It's not so much that gold is perfect, it is that paper is insane. To give politicians and bureaucrats and secret bankers the license to counterfeit money and create money out of thin air is destined to fail, and it has. Thats why we have had this financial bubble develop since the linkage to gold has been severed in 1971

Now they are trying desperately to print and spend, but the bubble was overwhelming and the bursting of this bubble is something they cannot contain. It would never happen under a gold standard because there would be no legal right for our central bank to spend money and create money out of thin air. The arrogance of it all is unbelievable. The fast signs are political and obvious.

If we continue doing what we're doing now, we will literally destroy the dollar.

Paul, who is a physician, was critical of Obamas stated aim of developing a national health care plan. He said: He has no money. Where is he going to get the money.

He has no intention of bringing our troops home. Hes talked a little about Iraq, but we are maintaining a world empire to the tune of a trillion dollars a year. He wants more troops in Afghanistan. You have to save some money someplace. So if you want to help some people who are sick, we'll have to change our foreign policy and bring our troops home.

I believe that all goods and services in a free society should be by voluntary means and never through government coercion. The more the government s involved, the more money they spend, and the more they pretend they're helping, it does but one thing it pushes prices up.

When Obama says something like that, somebody in the media someday would have to say, Where are you going to get the money If he's going to steal it from someone, who is he going to steal from. The producers are hurting. The corporations are bankrupt. There's no funding.

Instead of coming back to a balanced budget and living within our means, to propose national health care, and not attack our empire, is just foolhardy and will seal our fate.

Southern Baptist Going Liberal

An opponent of the Patriot Act, Paul was asked if he would give any credit to the measure for keeping Americans safe since 9/11.

No, not really, he said. All it's done is regulate people. We've regulated the American people. The people are less free, but the fact that we have not had an attack is probably just a coincidence. http://newsmax.com/newsfront/ron_paul_interview/2008/12/11/160795.html

Ron Paul announced his founding of the Campaign for Liberty. This is our time, the Campaign for Liberty is our voice. It's time for a new meetup. Do not tolerate the destruction of Freedom, that took 233 years of bloodshed to create, for our nation!!!

Alabama Republican Liberty Candidates

While Obama is a clear obmination. , McCain has a record of pushing the liberal record. As Ann Coulter says, McCain will leave the Republican Party in shambles. The next 2 Congressional elections are likely to have major loses to the GOP. If Obama were President, people would wake up and get fired up, They will go to sleep under Republican President McCain. We need to make a political statement with fast lawn signs.

The Constitution was the best ever devised for releasing the creative energy of a free people while strictly holding in check the destructive powers of government. Only the rule of law can constrain those who, by human instinct, look for a free ride while delivering power to those few, found in every society, whose only goal in life is a devilish desire to rule over others.

The rule of law in a republic protects free-market activity and private-property ownership and provides for equal justice under the law. It is this respect for law and rights over government power that protects the mainspring of human progress from the enemies of liberty.

Communists and other socialists have routinely argued that the law is merely a tool of the powerful capitalists. But they have it backwards. Under democracy and fascism, the pseudo-capitalists write the laws that undermine the Constitution and jeopardize the rights and property of all citizens. They fail to realize it is the real law, the Constitution itself, which guarantees rights and equal justice and permits capitalism, thus guaranteeing progress.

Arbitrary, ever-changing laws are the friends of dictators. Authoritarians argue constantly that the Constitution is a living document, and that rigid obedience to ideological purity is the enemy we should be most concerned about. They would have us believe that those who cherish strict obedience to the rule of law in the defense of liberty are wrong merely because they demand ideological purity. They fail to mention that their love of relative rights and pure democracy is driven by a rigid obedience to an ideology as well.

Congressman Ron Paul has denounced the national ID card provisions contained in the intelligence bill being voted on in the U.S. House of Representatives, while urging his colleagues to reject the bill and its new layers of needless bureaucracy. National ID cards are not proper in a free society, Paul stated. “ This is America, not Soviet Russia. The federal government should never be allowed to demand papers from American citizens, and it certainly has no constitutional authority to do so. Wear a t-shirt and send a message.

1 Kings 6:16-18
16 Then he built the twenty-cubit room at the rear of the temple, from floor to ceiling, with cedar boards; he built it inside as the inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place.
17 And in front of it the temple sanctuary was forty cubits long.
18 The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with ornamental buds and open flowers. All was cedar; there was no stone to be seen.
